Author Guidelines

The editor accepts scientific articles based on the results of empirical research or conceptual works in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and related fields.

The manuscript must follow the specific criteria below:

  1. The submitted manuscript has never been published in other journals and is not the result of plagiarism. The editor will strictly screen the manuscript to follow this rule; any publication ethics violations will be the author(s) ’s responsibility.
  2. Every submitted manuscript will be checked using plagiarism checker software. The manuscript must have a similarity index below 25 percent. Please check your manuscript similarity index using Turnitin, iThenticate, or other reputable plagiarism-checking software.
  3. The manuscript will be processed through a double-blind review, and the author(s) must follow the editorial process, including manuscript revision and copyediting.
  4. The manuscript is typed in Microsoft Word and consists of 6-10 pages of A4 (210 x 297 mm) paper following the Teknika journal template. Please download the journal template here
  5. The manuscript is written in English. 
  6. The manuscript’s title is written at the beginning using a center format, Times New Roman font type, size 18 pt, bold, and single space.
  7. Author(s) identity (full name without an academic title, affiliation, and e-mail address) is written below the main title.
  8. The article’s content is typed in 2 columns format, using Times New Roman font type, size 10 pt, and single space.
  9. The abstract is written up to 250 words. Please define up to 5 keywords separated by commas (,). Keywords must be carefully selected to explain the main concept of the article.
  10. Subchapters must be written in Roman format (I, II, III, IV, etc.) and typically follow this order: Introduction—Research Methodology—Results and Discussion—Conclusion.
  11. An informative caption must follow every table and figure. The table’s caption is at the top, and the figure’s caption is below the respective objects, using the center format. Please ensure all figures in the article have good resolution and can be read easily.
  12. Acknowledgment can be added after the last subchapter (before References).
  13. References are written in the last part using the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) citation format.

  14. The manuscript prepared using a journal template can be sent via the online journal system at http://ejournal.ikado.ac.id/teknika. The author(s) must sign the letter of publication and copyright statement, which can be downloaded here, and then upload them as supplementary files at the last stage of the submission process.
  15. There is no article submission fee. However, once a manuscript is accepted for publication, you must pay an article publication fee of IDR 750,000.00 to contribute to publication costs. This fee will be exempted if the article has at least one author from an institution outside Indonesia.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 10-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
