Generative AI Policy
1. Generative AI in the Writing Process
In alignment with global publication ethics, Teknika: Journal of Information and Communication Technology requires authors to disclose the use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the preparation of their manuscripts.
-
Authorship: Generative AI cannot be credited as an author or co-author. Authors are legally and ethically responsible for the content of their work, including the accuracy of citations and the absence of plagiarism.
-
Disclosure Statement: If AI tools were used to draft, edit, or translate text, authors must include a formal declaration at the end of the manuscript. This statement should detail the tool used (including version/model) and the scope of its application.
2. AI as a Research Methodology
As a journal dedicated to Information and Communication Technology, Teknika recognizes that AI, Machine Learning (ML), and Deep Learning are often core components of the research methodology.
-
Methodological Transparency: When AI is used as a tool for data collection, analysis, or as the subject of the study itself, it must be comprehensively documented within the Materials and Methods section. Authors must provide details regarding the algorithms, datasets, training parameters, and hardware utilized to ensure the reproducibility of the results.
-
Data Integrity: Authors must ensure that AI-driven data analysis is free from algorithmic bias and that the results are verified through rigorous validation techniques. The use of synthetic data generated by AI must be explicitly identified as such and justified within the research framework.
3. Ethical Oversight and Prohibitions
-
Confidentiality in Peer Review: To protect intellectual property and maintain the integrity of the double-blind peer-review process, reviewers and editorial board members are strictly prohibited from inputting submitted manuscripts into generative AI platforms.
-
Originality: Manuscripts found to have been substantially generated by AI without a clear methodological justification or those containing AI-generated "hallucinations" (unverifiable data or fake references) will be subject to immediate rejection.
